July Merit Badge Instruction

Wednesday, July 7th: As classes continued, the weather turned quite hot.  We had a few cases of minor dehydration, solved by lots of water and a bit of rest.  The Gold Rush crew came out of the hills for a shower; WOW, did they need a shower!

Troop 537 of Watkinsville, Georgia is proud to meet at Briarwood Baptist Church on Hog Mountain Road.

Troop 537 began with a combination of scouts from troops 388 and 149. That sum equals the best troop and our troop number--388+149=537.

Meetings

Troop 537 meets every Monday night from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. At the meetings, we learn basic scout skills, work on a variety of merit badges and have fun !

Leadership

Led by a Senior Patrol Leader and his Assistants, Troop 537 is led by scouts. In order to maintain control, the troop is divided into patrols, each led by another scout.

Camping

cooking
We go camping as often as possible and enjoy cooking on an open fire. Some past camping trips included water skiing, caving, biking and the popular wilderness survival weekend.

Summer Camp

This year, our summer camp at Camp Rainey Mountain takes place from July 4-10. Don't miss this opportunity to complete several merit badges and have a good time with friends.

Service Hours

Service to our community is an important mission of Troop 537. As of 4-5-10, our scouts have contributed 207 service hours to benefit our community.
