Water Sports Weekend, July 12-14, 2011

Hello everyone.

I want to thank everyone that attended and helped on this past weekend's trip. We had a great time and several of our Scouts managed to achieve the Water Sports merit badge.
 
With the combination of Troop 537 and Troop 149 on this trip, we had just over 50 Scouts and 15 adults, including the boat drivers!
 
This year, I think we had the best offering of boats that we have had ever. We had 6 nice big ski boats so we were able to get in two rounds of skiing before lunch and two rounds after lunch, in spite of our 3 pm to 5 pm round being canceled because of lightning and wind.

Special thanks to the boat drivers that joined me; Charles T., Chris F., Steve D., Judd H., and Steve T.
We managed another 2-1/2 hour round again on Sunday morning and I know of at least three Scouts that managed to get the merit badge's 4 wake crosses requirement on Sunday morning. Good job to all.
After the Troop had broken camp and we had everything ready to go, Danel B. led us in a great worship service and we headed for home.
I am proud of all of our Scouts. They showed great leadership and character on this trip. I had several comments on how well mannered and organized all of the Scouts were.
